Park Lodge Stables

A historic yard perfectly positioned in the centre of Newmarket between the main training grounds. Neighbouring the Jockey Club Rooms and The Horse Racing Museum it is close to both Bury Side on the west and Racecourse Side to the east and northeast of the town.

It was previously the base of renowned trainer James Eustace who took his trainer’s licence in 1989 and trained from here for 31 years, tasting success at Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood and Longchamp to name but a few. After announcing his retirement in 2021 following a most successful career, James handed the reins to his son Harry who has had an outstanding start to his career and has quickly outgrown the yard in just three seasons. James Eustace and his wife Gaye still reside here and keep a watchful eye on the current equine residents.

Park Lodge Stables is a haven for horses, with airy stables and high ceilings, perfect for both hygiene and horse wellbeing and boasts a quaint green with two chestnut trees in the centre of the courtyard, giving a feeling of tranquility to the horses who live here. The yard has an enclosed paddock which includes an all-weather trotting ring, lunge ring and turn-out pen, together with a covered horse walker for those rainy days.
